Virtual 'worlds'...the essence of the religious experience, under the total control of clever manipulators...my. Wow. The entire "New Age" movement and several now-respected American religions have this as a basis for grouping...

This is ironic for several reasons. Consider, that if Muslim-oriented radicalizers were as sophisticated about the means for shaping thoughts as American ordinary mediocre advertisers! working for Radsoap or Buddy Beer!

And of course, it WILL come to that. If I were involved with the misnamed "Homeland Security" I'd monitor Muslim names registering for Communications courses in college, instead of flying training.

And conversely, people in advertising and communications getting dissatisfied with the inability of our legal elite's ability visit justice upon criminal elements of the financial elite...

Just as the proto-totalitarian strain Joseph Stalin seeded into this country in the late thirties proved...which has continued its subversive work through right-wing organizations and until very recently worked its will through the Tea party, these things take time UNLESS very talented people are involved.

Recruiting is done by charmers, which murderers and serious plotters rarely are. Currently the freak show that is Al Queda has run its recruiting just like an old-fashioned carnival side show.

The first contact with the freak show is thru the decent clean young folk who are young carnies moving thru the crowd, bumping gently and humorously into gullible crowd members, unsophisticated young fools out on their first outing, and asking them if they've seen the...?

That sets up the mood for the BARKER who will loudly proclaim, right this way for what everybody's been hearing about...
Then once the crowd is ballied up, th4e pushers, the kids who first 'broght the news'...turn pusher and push...still gently...the group toward the ticket-seller and the barker...and then...they're IN THE TENT.

Very few will stay if it's REAL freak show, but if its displays are honorable and represents something desireable in the attractee's life...a few will STAY.

Since most jihad is pretty groaty to outsiders, living on the ground and obeying orders sixteen hours a day...Al Quedaa and whatever form resistance to western culture takes anymore hasn't been very effective.

But local, near-grassroots movements? which MAY attract talented leaders and story-tellers?

Personally, if I were an FBI or even more powerful governmental organization member reading this, I'd start thinking long and hard about how to prove to citizens that the legally-formed and supported organizations whose duty it is to to protect citizens against fraud and other works of enemies of the Constitution, foreign AND DOMESTIC...why is it that no one of any consequence has gone to jail in the financial rip offs and scandals? that TRILLIONS of dollars have been heisted from the Treasury AND the future pockets of future taxpayers, those who trusted you and essentially hired you to do just that? Why no action? Who bought your boss? how? or is THAT the proper question?

Anyway...again: gross types like jihad murderers don't make good recruiters...so I would make a water-tight compartment between them and any really influential or empathetic groups, such as media stars and even old lovers of my country such as myself...disappointed people who must confront a crisis of legitimacy...since the financial elite is either dishonest or stupid or both and inherently untrustworthy...AND my FBI, my Department of Justice, my Supreme Court! are NOT my allies, my protectors, my white knights, my buds, not the sons and daughters nor the same caliber as the Green Beret trainees I jumped out of planes at night into dark frigid air to run with strangers for weeks at a time...yes, I could tell some American stories about how disappointed I am...legitimacy of the entire groups sworn to protect and defend against ALL enemies of the Constitution, foreign and domestic...where are you?
